MY story
From Helplessness to Wellness
I was already a learning specialist when I began coaching parents and adults impacted by ADHD. I had read the books, completed the courses, and worked closely with students—assessing their needs, supporting their growth, and understanding their challenges. I was deeply motivated.
Growing up, I witnessed how kids with special needs were often rejected by society. That experience shaped me. It fueled my commitment to special education, driving me to help students replace feelings of helplessness with confidence. My goal was to equip them with real-life skills, strategies, and choices—helping them approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, take ownership of their learning, and even enjoy the process of strategizing and adapting. I called it "teacher mindset" learning.
But then, life shifted. The stability I had relied on began to slip away. I no longer felt grounded, and my new environment lacked the support I needed. My professional development felt chaotic and stressful, leaving me struggling to align with my goals, dreams, and strengths.
I found myself asking: Where is my own love of learning?
The things that once came naturally—reading, expressing my thoughts, writing about my experiences—suddenly felt difficult. My passion for growth and discovery, both for myself and my students, felt out of reach.
Strength-based coaching helped me find my footing again. It gave me the space to explore, refine, and reshape my unique coaching practice.
That experience deepened my understanding—not just of ADHD, but of the real-life struggles that come with it. It reinforced my belief that thriving requires three essential elements: self-awareness, intentional skill-building, and the ability to create your own support systems. Only when these come together can we truly reconnect with our goals.
Now, I draw from both my personal and professional experiences to help others move from overwhelm to confidence, from struggle to success—from helplessness to wellness.
